About Us

Founded in 1990, Boon Tian Contractor Pte Ltd began as a specialist subcontractor providing bricklaying, plastering, and floor screeding works for Housing & Development Board (HDB) projects.

During the 1990s, we built a strong reputation for quality workmanship and reliable delivery, completing about 2,000 dwelling units annually with contract values of up to S$20 million, supported by a workforce of 400 local and foreign employees.

In 2000, recognising the evolving needs of Singapore’s construction sector, we transitioned from labour‑intensive subcontracting to taking on main contractor roles and Addition & Alteration (A&A) projects. This strategic shift marked a new chapter in our growth.

By 2001, we secured our first residential main contractor project, Grisborne Light, showcasing our ability to manage projects end‑to‑end. In 2005, we delivered our first commercial A&A project at Telepark for Ascendas REIT, expanding into asset enhancement and upgrading works.

Unlike new‑build developments, A&A projects demand tailored engineering solutions to balance operational needs with structural integrity. Our expertise includes partial demolition, structural strengthening, modifications, and new additions, all executed while keeping buildings safe and functional.

Many of our projects are carried out in live, occupied environments, requiring meticulous planning, phased work sequences, and close coordination with owners, consultants, tenants, and stakeholders to minimise disruption. Where necessary, our teams work beyond normal hours to ensure critical activities are completed with minimal impact.

To meet the increasing complexity of modern A&A works, we continually adopt advanced construction technologies, innovative engineering methods, and specialised equipment. By combining technical expertise with careful planning and a strong commitment to safety, we consistently deliver projects that meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
