Inspired by the Counter Strike series, Valorant is a team-based FPS combining tactical shooter mechanics with elemental abilities. Each Agent has a set of different abilities that must be charged through earning kills, playing objectives or collecting orbs. Depending on the role of the Agent, their abilities can be proficient at offense, defense or support. There are currently 19 agents to play as with more coming in the future.

The game was released in North America on August 10, 2010, being released a day later on August 11, 2010 in PAL regions. The game was highly similar to the more known “Complete Edition” released in 2020. Although being similar, Knives Chau and Wallace Wells were rather DLC, and not included with the game from the start. Knives Chau, and the two modes, Dodge-Ball and Battle Royal were released on November 9th, 2010, to coincide with the movies Blu-Ray and DVD release. 3 years later, on March 12, 2013 on PS3 and March 13, 2013 for Xbox Live Arcade, DLC with Wallace Wells was released. The DLC was scheduled for February 5, 2013, but was delayed. The game was unexpectedly delisted from PSN and Xbox Live Arcade on December 30, 2014, most likely due to either copyright issues, or contract expiration with Oni Press, O’Malley and Ubisoft.

Like the original release, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game lets you and up to three friends battle through the enemy swarms together. Unfortunately, we couldn’t test the online play in the game’s pre-release review period. We’ll soon update this review with our thoughts on the game’s online multiplayer.
Loosely following the story of the graphic novels, up to four players can play as Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Kim Pine or Stephen Stills, along with the unlockable character NegaScott and the downloadable characters Knives Chau and Wallace Wells, who must battle through seven levels in order to defeat Ramona’s seven evil exes. Characters have their own individual movesets, which can be expanded upon by gaining enough experience, and are also able to use weapons. Each player has Heart Points and Guts Points, the latter of which can revive players if they are knocked out, or be used to perform special moves such as summoning Knives or the unlockable assist character Mr. Chau. Defeating enemies earns coins which can be spent in shops to purchase items that can replenish health or boost stats. Certain items can be taken “to go” to be automatically used when the player runs out of health. Players can also enter Subspace areas which act as bonus areas where extra coins can be earned. During co-operative play, players can revive fallen comrades at the cost of some money, give each other health or money, and simultaneously taunt for a combined attack. Various cheat codes unlock extra features, such as a Sound Test, a Boss Rush and a Survival Horror mode.
Despite its long absence from the video game scene, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game has lost none of its charm and appeal. Last year’s Streets of Rage 4 provides a more satisfying beat ’em up experience due to the inclusion of fighting game-style combos, but Scott Pilgrim still holds its own as an excellent brawler. Let’s hope the game sticks around for good this time.
Game 2 world series
Top of the sixth: Gleyber Torres and Juan Soto grounded out and Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out Aaron Judge for the second time. Yamamoto has retired 10 straight batters and has allowed just one hit (Juan Soto’s home run in the third) over six innings.
This game felt like an opportunity for Aaron Judge to set the tone and finally make his presence felt, but he took another 0-for-4 with three more strikeouts, knocking his postseason OPS down to .605. The real problem was that Judge actually did set the tone. For eight innings, every Yankees hitter seemed to follow in his footsteps. Juan Soto’s solo homer was their only hit until the ninth, and even after that ninth-inning rally, the Yankees finished 4-for-31. Brutal night for the Yankees offense, and another bad night for their MVP.
Rodón has also made three starts in the postseason, and has had similar results to Yamamoto. He allowed four runs in 3 2/3 frames against the Royals in Game 2 of the ALDS, dominated the Guardians in Game 1 of the ALCS with nine strikeouts over six strong frames, and was solid —if unspectacular — with two runs over 4 2/3 innings in Game 5 while accumulating six punchouts. The key for Rodón will be avoiding the blowup innings, and if he can, the Yankees have a good chance of evening this series.
“Not only the dugout, but the whole stadium went silent,” said Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez. “You know how big Shohei is for this team. Hopefully he’s okay, and the day off tomorrow will help him get back on the field Monday.”
